1213 Masterclass in Strategic Marketing
Strategic marketing management is the decision-making process of risking and allocating scarce company resources in the search for a competitive advantage in the marketplace. It is about analyzing where your company and brands are today, and where you want them to be tomorrow.
This Masterclass explores the differences and constraints faced by entrepreneurs in their marketing efforts, and to provide some solutions to these dilemmas and illustrate how to approach marketing in this environment. Specifically, the major issues often faced by start-ups is a lack of funding, which then sometimes results in skimping on the marketing spend and budget. This issue of scarce resources also extends to other areas of the marketing mix, including budgeting for sales activities.
Moreover, in the heat of the day-to-day battle to get and keep customers, there are constant pressures on marketing managers to deviate from, if not completely forget, those carefully formulated strategies. Customers want you to add “just one little feature” to your product. The salesforce wants you to lower the price to match competition “so we can sell more”. A company in other GCC countries wants to buy five hundred units next week-while you had not planned on expanding to other countries.
PBS has developed this masterclass to help you, business owners or aspiring entrepreneurs, and marketing professionals to develop your/their skills in formulating and implementing marketing strategies. Using lectures on the framework and principles, business case analysis, classroom discussion, group presentations and a “real-world application”, we equip you to identify, analyze and solve marketing problems. This is an intensive and highly interactive masterclass. Learners are expected to question, argue and discuss everything that is presented. Requirements for attendees are an understanding of marketing management principles, significant marketing management experience, enthusiasm, and a willingness to think and work.
